Indiana Land Protection Alliance is partnering with Indiana Academy of Science (IAS) to connect taxonomic specialists with Indiana’s land trusts and conservation partners. In 2025, we welcomed the addition of Indiana Native Plant Society (INPS) as a supporting partner. Through this initiative, we strive to increase the quality and quantity of scientific data that is collected from protected lands to inform land acquisition and land management strategies and monitor the long-term impacts to these communities.
This program provides small grants for qualified bioinventory projects. All applications and project proposals must be submitted to the Biodiversity and Natural Areas Committee (BNAC) of the Indiana Academy of Science by September 15 and March 15. The application form (with submission instructions) is provided at the Protect Indiana Land website.
For questions about this partnership, please email Dr. Glené Mynhardt, PhD, bnac@indianaacademyofscience.org or Andrea Huntington, ahuntington@protectindianaland.org.
