The IAS Science and Society Committee presents Science with a Twist, September 13, from 6-8 PM at Guggman Haus Brewing Company. The speaker for this event is Dr. Zach Sylvain.
Dr. Zach Sylvain is an Assistant Professor of Biology and Science Director of the Nina Mason Pulliam EcoLab at Marian University. He has 20 years of experience as a soil ecologist studying the impacts of environmental changes (especially land-use change, plant invasions, and ecological restoration) on terrestrial ecosystems and how these changes impact communities of soil organisms and their roles in functioning ecosystems. His research has spanned a range of ecosystems across North America, as well as the Dry Valleys of Antarctica.
